Which media institution might well distribute your media product and why?

One media institution that would possible produce our group's piece of work would preferably be Paramount Pictures. Paramount is one of Hollywoods 'Big 6' movie production companies.

the main reaso why i choose this company in particular to produce 'Life Goes On' is because it wuld be starring Tom Hanks, a massive bockbuster name. Therefore a fairly big budget would be provided and with the star power and origional screeplay it would propbably produce a lot of profit. This is the main factor that the Big 6 in Hollywood think about when the considering to producing a film.

Also, this company would be able to distribute the film very well through vertical integration, due to their fame and power. Another factor in marketing the film would be the big star power of Tom Hanks - also in Forest Gump (Zemeckis, 1994). A film also produced and distributed by Paramount who also, due to their power, would also be able to distribute a successful marketing campaign. This would be the marketing to apeal not just directly to a target audience but also in mass marketing in advertising and social media for example.

The possible mass distribution will also determi how successful the film is going to be. If a lot of iterest is created then great. If no interest is created, in comparison, then this would be made visible very quickly for the production team to make decisions. As a result of finding out this data then not as much money would be wasted on setting a wide release for the film. Instead a smaller linited release would be set, even released straight to online subscriptions such as Netflix, or to DVD.
